This series of wall sculptures examines humanity's evolving relationship with natural resources, specifically timber. Using solid oak, the panels are carefully planed and finished before being dramatically slashed at an angle, treated to evoke the contrasting textures of mined fossil fuels. The raw, chiseled, scorched, and stained surfaces interact with the natural oak grain, highlighting timber’s dual nature—as both a raw material and a refined resource.
